the ryan plan, you will notice, laura. is he talking about the romney plan. is he talking about the romney tax plan. the romney budget. and making it very clear for the first time and i thought he did a great job of it, talking about who is the boss and the boss is governor romney. >> laura: all right, lou, great to see you. have a great weekend. >> you too. >> laura: when we come right back, martha raddatz questions the can cats on abortion. -- raddatz on abortion. we will hear from both sides coming up. >> laura: thanks for staying with us, i'm laura ingraham in for bill o'reilly. in the unresolved problem segment tonight, just when we thought the so-called war on women debate was over, last night's moderator martha raddatz might have reignited an issue with a question about abortion and faith. >> i don't see how a person can separate their public life from their private life or from their faith. our faith informs us in everything we do. my nate informs me about how to take care of the vulnerable about how to make sure that people have a chance in life. now, you weren't asked why i'm pro

are mischaracterizing the romney plan. saying you're right there is $5 trillion lowering the tax rates but he talks about cutting loopholes. but that is part of the plan. >> but he won't say, chris, which loopholes and which deductions. senator, i doubt seriously you would be if favor of doing away or cutting the home mortgage deduction for middle class americans. governor romney has not said what the plan is for paying for the $5 trillion in tax cuts just like he won't talk about what his tax returns have been or -- >> with all due reis spect, governor, first of all, governor romney made is clear in the debate and he was actually able to speak directly to the american people that he is not going to lower the burdening on up youer income individuals. we know that upper income individuals rely more heavily on deductions and he will give the relief on the middle class and it will be deficit neutral. one of the best lines of the debate was i have five sons and you can tell the story i'm used to hearing the story five times and having me believing it to be true but we know it is not true what they are

talked about this a lot. look at this. romney, ahead now in florida, north carolina, ohio and virginia. >> not ohio. >> ohio is down by one. >> he was so far behind. >> what we are seeing, in florida, which is a republican-leaning state if the race is tied, governor romney has a slight advantage. north carolina, he should win, as well. ohio is the key. all the swing states, including virginia, can go to governor romney but unless he wins ohio, he cannot win the election. ohio is now close to deadlocked. >>gregg: governor romney was down double digit. >> he was down in ohio, certainly. i don't know about double digits. notice news organization which spent all the money doing the state polls, we have not had one poll since the debate talking about the effect, favorability and other things. i will say this: one of the things that has happened, the race has the disconnect -- romney should you'd this, the $200 million or more spent making him into an eager and the president never made the charges. i would be out there torpedoing obama's add very advertising, why won't he say it himself? >>

of odd if a person is talking directly to you like governor romney was during most of the debate and you don't look at them. it is almost -- it is -- could be considered rude or disinterested, irritated. t certainly sent the wrong message and at times you notice the president is even looking to his left when his podium is candid to the right and so it sends the message i would like to get out of here as fast as possible. >> chris: he is certainly sent that message. you say that romney for all of his good points, stumbled, too, during the debate. you say one case is when was talking about reforming social security and medicare, entitlements. let's take a look. >> if you are around 60 or older you don't need to listen any further but for younger people we need to talk about what changes are going to be occurring. >> chris: i was surprised by this. what did he do wrong there? >> i don't necessarily think -- you know, it is degrees of weakness and i think governor romney had a very strong night. section on sec hundred on entitlements he didn't necessarily look the best and seemed to be the m

. patti ann: talk about that so-called debate bounce that romney got. looking back historically, when a candidate is perceived to have won a debate, how long does that bounce last? >> there has not really been any record of an event like the debate we had last wednesday night. four years ago there was absolutely no debate bounce. eight years ago very modest because we haven't seen a challenger win so decisively. we do know most bounces in and of themselves last less than a week in today's 24, 7 news environment. patti ann: we'll see what happens after the upcoming vice-presidential debate and beyond. >> it will be interesting. patti ann: yeah, that's for sure. thank you as always for joining us with the very latest numberss. bill: he was telling us last week to wait until monday morn. very interesting how that develops. >>> the break in a case of a missing 10-year-old girl. jessica ridgeway is her name. police say jessica was last seen on friday morning walking to school and then she vanished. police extended their search into the town of superior, colorado. that is a bit north of den
